Story In A Bag Contest
Are you a published writer, a frustrated writer, a closet writer,
or would just like to see if you can create a story out of bag?
If you answered yes to any of these questions (or if you're just
curious), then join us on Saturday afternoon for one or both of
the one-hour creative writing exercise/contest workshops. This event
will be open to ALL ConQuesT attendees (fan and pro alike).
During the workshop, each participant will pull a slip out of each
of the bags provided (each bag will be labeled: plot elements -
settings - characters - first lines - objects; there will be a separate
set of bags for the Young Fan division).
The information drawn from the bags MUST be used in the story,
and the first line must kick off your story. Keep in mind that there
MAY be duplicates of some slips. You will have one hour to compose
and edit your story. Stories are limited to no more than five pages
for handwritten stories and three pages for typed stories. Remember,
short and sweet!
All stories written in this workshop will be posted in the Con
Suite and members of the convention will vote on which stories they
like the most (stories will be posted anonymously) in several categories:
Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. There will also be three divisions:
Professional, Amateur, and Young Fan. The winner(s) will be announced
at Closing Ceremonies. |
