Parking Information

Parking is a very scarce commodity in the area around the Sheraton. Here's a brief overview of what is available, where and when it is free, and alternatives.

  NOTE:
  - On Saturday and Sunday, Crown Center will again host the "Jiggle Jam" kids extravaganza on Saturday and Sunday, and parking in the area will be at a premium.
  - On Sunday evening, Union Station will again be the site of a free outdoor Memorial Day celebration concert. If you leave for dinner on Sunday and expect to return that evening, parking spaces make be difficult to find.

SHERATON GARAGE (attached to hotel):

1. PARKING FEES:
   The Sheraton parking garage charges for parking (see rates below) and has a height limit of 6'9" (i.e. no motorhomes/tall vans, etc).
   - Self Parking: $15/day
   - Valet Parking: $19/day
   NOTE: The hotel does *not* own the parking garage, and has no control over the pricing. The garage is owned by Crown Center. Any rumors you hear that may concern the hotel garage and free parking should be ignored.
   
   
2. HEIGHT RESTRICTION:
   The Sheraton parking garage cannot accommodate vehicles taller than 6'9" (i.e. no motorhomes or tall vans).
   
   
3. LOBBY RENOVATION:
   Renovations are in progress in the Sheraton lobby. As a result, you may not have a direct path from the garage to the hotel registration desk or ConQuesT registration. You may want to check in BEFORE you unload your car.

CROWN CENTER RETAIL GARAGE (one block south of hotel):

1. LOCATION: one block south of the hotel, at the intersection of McGee and Pershing.
   
   
2. STANDARD WEEKDAY PARKING FEES (as of 5/22/12):
   0 - 1/2 Hr: $4.00
   1/2 - 1 Hr: $6.00
   1 - 2 Hrs: $7.00
   2 - 3 Hrs: $8.00
   3 - 4 Hrs: $9.00
   4 - 5 Hrs: $10.00
   5 - 6 Hrs: $11.00
   6 - 24 Hrs: $15.00
   Lost Ticket Charge: $15.00
   (Payment by cash or personal check only)
   FREE 3-hour parking with validation. Take $25 in Crown Center receipts to the Customer Service office and get an extra three FREE hours of parking. (Receipts not accepted at parking exit.)
   
   
3. On Friday evening, FREE weekend parking goes into effect. Please confirm before choosing to park there.
   
   
4. Public events in and around Crown Center on Saturday and Sunday create high demand for parking spaces.

1. On Pershing between Grand and Main (some of the area is reserved for taxis) Parking on Main south of Pershing is legal after 6 p.m., on both sides of the street. Cars will need to be moved from the northbound parking lane by 6 a.m. Friday.
2. In the residential area to the south of Children's Mercy Hospital, east of the hotel off Gillham. It's a long walk from there, BTW.
