Parking Information

Parking is a very scarce commodity in the area around the Sheraton. Here's a brief overview of what is available, where and when it is free, and alternatives.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (as of 2/2/2012)

The Sheraton parking garage charges for parking (see rates below) and has a height limit of 6'9" (i.e. no motorhomes/tall vans, etc).

  • Self Parking: $15/day
  • Valet Parking: $19/day

HEIGHT RESTRICTION:
This hotel cannot accommodate vehicles that are taller than 6'9" (i.e. no motorhomes/tall vans, etc).

NOTE: The hotel does *not* own the parking garage, and has no control over the pricing.
The garage is owned by Crown Center. Any rumors you hear over the weekend concerning the hotel garage and free parking should be ignored.

The Crown Center parking garage on Pershing charges for parking on Thursday and Friday, but there is validation available from the Crown Center shops and restaurants. The Crown Center garage will be running as above with the rates posted below through 6 p.m. Friday, when the gates will go up and weekend parking rates go into effect. Please confirm these rates before choosing to park there. Due to the Memorial Day Holiday, the Crown Center garage may remain open on Monday for those who are staying over Sunday night, but please confirm before choosing to park there. Crown Center parking garage rates (as posted on their website):

  • 0 - 1/2 Hr: $3.50
  • 1/2 - 1 Hr: $5.50
  • 1 - 2 Hrs: $6.50
  • 2 - 3 Hrs: $7.50
  • 3 - 4 Hrs: $8.50
  • 4 - 5 Hrs: $9.50
  • 5 - 6 Hrs: $10.50
  • 6 - 24 Hrs: $14.50
  • Lost Ticket Charge: $14.50

Free Parking: Limited availability on-street parking on Pershing between Grand and Main (some of the area is reserved for taxis, and marked as such). Parking on Main south of Pershing is legal after 6 p.m., on both sides of the street. Cars will need to be moved from the northbound parking lane by 6 a.m. Friday. There is also street parking in the residential area to the south of Children's Mercy Hospital, east of the hotel off Gillham. This is somewhat farther away from the hotel than Main.

NOTE: Crown Center will again host the "Jiggle Jam" kids extravaganza on Saturday and Sunday, and parking in the area will be at a premium. Once the festivities end in the early evening, finding a parking place will become much easier if you decide to leave and return.
